"Artist Kim Byung Jong is whom we can call the representative of South Korea’s “Literary art”. His works is a mixed between tradition and modern. He conveys Korea unique painting spirit through is national self-consciousness.

While being part of Seoul National University’s Oriental painting heritage, we can still feel through the intensity of his work a sense of resistance to tradition and custom. His works go beyond the conventional and ancient techniques of Oriental painting or Chinese painting, it shows Korea’s independent modern painting by harmonizing the core and meaning of it."
